Disclaimer: Landmark Awning & Enclosure, LLC & EnclosureGuy.com have designed our Roll-Down Enclosure Systems based on 50 years of maritime experience, related fields of education and 25 years of custom design/build/install practical field experiences. Landmark incorporates the highest quality materials available with guaranteed craftsmanship to custom fabricate your retractable patio solution. Although this system has been time tested, it has not been professionally engineered by us or any other firm. Warning: This temporary structure has not been manufactured to meet any specific building code requirements, nor have permits been requested or applied for. We recommend that in the event of severe weather or if there is any doubt concerning the safe handling and operation that you evacuate the area and retract the entire enclosure system. These curtains in size, area, and configuration are a small yacht sail and should not be taken lightly. Typically, these individual panels will contain a surface area in excess of 100 sq.ft. per each and in a 35 mph gust, will generate a live load of nearly 1,000 lbs. and should be handled with care. We also recommend that each panel be rolled all the way up to the stored position every night or at the end of each use. Seasonal installations should be inspected regularly !
“ORDER OF OPERATION” MANUAL SYSTEM
Roll-Down Procedure: 1.) Un-cleat (see sketch) the rope halyards that cradle the curtain, hold the weight by squeezing tightly and lower slowly being mindful of the wind. 2.) Once the curtains are all the way down, attach the tie-down trigger snaps to the d-rings, and tighten the web strap/ladder lock. 3.) Lower the zipper slides by grabbing the tab/split ring and pull down. 4.) Apply slight (even) tension to all halyards, cleat off, and hang excess rope. 5.) Flip lower (weather) sweeper into position
Roll-Up Procedure: 1.) Release tie-down tension by pulling up on the plastic ladder lock tab. 2.) Unclip trigger snaps from d-rings 3.) Separate curtains and weather flaps by running up the zipper sliders. 4.) Un-Cleat halyards and detangle any knots 5.) Grasp halyards and move to the middle of the curtain 6.) Hand roll curtains to waist height 7.) Hold with one hand and take up halyard slack with other 8.) Even halyard tension to level curtain 9.) Haul halyards 10.) Cleat off as illustrated
Please Note: Curtains will appear oversized due to a built-in shrink factor. Tensioning the halyards will reduce the potential for chafing. Do not run zipper sliders above the bottom of top trim. Landmark strongly recommends a protective sun shade. CARE & CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
Use only cheese cloth to wipe off the clear vinyl, as bar rags, paper towels and other similar materials will scratch it permanently.
# 210 polish and scratch remover is recommended for general seasonal cleaning and is available through Landmark.
Zipper sliders should be dressed with lubricating wax or fluid
# 210 Plus which is a mild (paste) compound is recommended for deeper scratches.
It is strongly recommended that one responsible (key) person become familiar with the operation, care, and safe handling of your Enclosure System.
